After watching Ken Robinsonś TED talk about education I realized that genuis hour is really opposite of what we are currently learning in school. I honestly agree with every aspect of Ken Robinsonś TED talk besides his ADHD point. In school we are not taught to use our creativity, we are taught to memorize, to take tests. Schools do not encourage diversity anymore, but they do conformity. This factor is not the teachers fault either, it is the states. The state controls what we learn and do not learn in school. How smart I am is judged upon test scores I receive, not the overall picture. Kenś talk pertains to genius hour because genius hour is the example of how studentś should be learning. Studentś should explore the depth of their imagination and creativity, not memorization.
As I was watching Ken's TED talk I was intruged the entire time. He stated initional points and builded off of them. He also formated and prepared his speech very well. I never was confused on what he was saying. I will use this method in my TED talk to keep listeners intruged and to make sure they understand my viewpoint.
